History

Glad Tidings Worship Center was founded by Pastor Michael and Linda Ring. Our first church service was on May 6, 1990. We rented a church building on 5th and George Street in Sioux City, Iowa that started with a handful of people, mostly family. We had a piano but no musicians. That didn't stop us though, as we worshiped and sang acapella. By October of 1991 we grew to a congregation of 40 people.

The church was praying if we should buy the building as the owner was wanting to sell it. Pastor called for a seven day fast asking God what we should do. After the fast the Pastor of the Church Gospel Lighthouse called Pastor Mike and said their church board knew of our ministry and wanted to give their building to us. This was immediately after the church ended the corporate prayer and fasting!

Our Church Glad Tidings Worship Center moved to our new location in South Sioux City, Nebraska where we had our first service on November 3rd, 1991. In December we changed the name of the church to Glad Tidings Lighthouse. After the first service we doubled numerically and the rest is history. We say with thankfulness to the Lord, God has been good to us. Praise the Lord God answers prayers!
